The three previous years, Earth’s Classroom has led a float trip on the Mighty Missouri River from the current state capital to the old state capital (Jefferson City to St. Charles—116 miles).  This year EC will be leading a day trip only that will be compact with education along the way.  The day will be about 29.4 miles on this historic river.  Join us as we explore a river of historical  and ecological richness during the beautiful fall colors.  We plan on visiting New Haven for lunch.  Please call for detailed gear instructions and logistical planning.  If the river conditions are unsafe the trip will be cancelled. Below are a few pictures from EC Missouri River Trips from past years.

If you would like to add a colorful addition to your yard that is low maintenance and highly rewarding, this class is for you!!  You will learn everything that you will need to get your own prairie started and will even be able to collect some seed, from EC’s prairie, to take home.  You could have the colorful Monarch sitting on the New England Aster by your window or a covey of quail that forage along your prairie by your driveway.  So, come and expand your gardens with native plants.

If the weather permits we will show an example of a prescribed burn over a portion of the prairie.  We will provide brown paper bags for collecting.  Please bring gloves.
